Home alone

Tomorrow is the first Christmas for me in Singapore. Almost the whole class is talking about tonight celebration party. Some told me that the best spot in Singapore at Christmas Eve for celebration is Orchard Road. There will be a lots of activities going on there, and the best part of all, the countdown moment ,fire works, and street party.

"Ah Toot, come on lah, joint us tonight for the party at Orchard Road." Jonathan ask me in high mood, seems that he is very exited with the party. "Hah.... i think i will pass lol. You know me right, still cannot get myself comfortable with big crowds." I answer Jonathan. " Aiya, this is the biggest event in the year. And some "la mei" will go there with us oh. Let me introduce some to you lol. OK?" Jonathan persuade me again. Jonathan has been nice to me from the first day at school, he is first person talk to me in the class. After he know that i am Taiwanese and new migrate to Singapore, he offer to take me walk around Singapore as tour guide. Thanks to him i've been walk almost every corner in Singapore. Sometime when there is someone teasing me and laugh at me, he will help me get ride of them. Well he is one and only good friend i made at Singapore so far.

" Never mind lah, tonight my father is coming home, i want to celebrate with my father lol." I answer Jonathan. "hah... ok lol then, you don't know what you are going to miss lol ... haha..."Jonathan walk away with big laugh. "Ai... you though i don't to go meh, i afraid i might fainted at the middle of countdown moment. It happen before back in Taiwan." I whisper to myself.

"RING......................."Bells ring and everyone rushing home in high speed, they are not going to waste a single minutes to the party, are they? After tidy up my desk and pick up all my books, i walk to the bus stop. Oh yes, i told my father that none of the school mates send by driver to school, i don't want to be different from others, so i decided taking bus to school. Actually the first week to school in my father's Mercedes, i am always become centre attention of crowds when i walk down from the car. That makes me very uncomfortable....

On the way to bus stop, i saw a couple infront of me sticking together just like glued by superglue. "Hehe... ya meh, you are so nasty.hehe....." The girl laugh out loud. "That sound is very familiar... hmmm.... oh, Da Nai Ping !" I'm so suprise seeing Da Nai Ping and my good friend, Janothan is the glued couple. " Hey Ah Toot, going home ah. Come on lah, want to joint us or not, Ah Ping going too.." Jonathan saw me and try to persuade me... again. " No lah, thanks, you guys have fun, ok. " I answer Jonathan without looking at them, it's kind of "pai seh" because they still 'glue' together. " Oh, there is my bus, bye bye" I quickly walk up the bus and leaving Jonathan and Da Nai Ping at the bus stop. You can say i am so conservative thinking and hard headed, but i still cannot accept the western behavior apply on us the Chinese.

When i reached home, there is no one to welcome me. I lied to Jonathan about my father is coming home. My father didn't celebrate any festival with me after the incident happen back in Taiwan, he throw all his energy and time in his work and seldom come back and have dinner with me. I understand, it was a big impact for him too because of the incident, he try to forget his sadness with works, works, and works.... " Hm... maybe i will check my e-mail before going for dinner."This is my usual routine at home. <>, hm... someone mail me" Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle all the way.... " <>A music greeting card pop up on my computer screen. " Oh, nice card, who sent it to me hah? " I curious who is the sender because seldom i receive greeting cards. There is a e-mail address of sender at bottom of the cards. <> Hm !!!! it's Xiao Fen. What a big surprise !!!

At last i receive mail from Xiao Fen, I did sent a few e-mail to her, all of them is just some picture, pressure management tips and etc..... Non of them mention about myself and my will to make friend with her... Still so nervous even can't write to express myself. I though she dun know who i am and treat me as spam sender already... Haha, even though no one celebrate the Christmas Eve with me, but with Xiao Fen greeting had put me in cheery mood the whole night already. Next time i am going to send her more e-mail... this is a good first step... cheers !

Bride for e-mail address

It has been 1 month since the first day in school. And as usual, i didn't make much friends at my new school, just get to know a few classmate who sit next to me. "oh.... when can i get over with my crowd affraid sickness and make more friends?" I start to talk to myself again at rest time... alone in the classroom.

"Wei, Da Nai Ping, wanna go to the washroom with me?" A sweet and familiar voice come from corridor outside the classroom. When i look out i saw Da Tou Fen, the girl i met first day at school front door. Her real name is Pei Fen, but her friend gave her a nick "Da Tou Fen". i am curious why they call her Da Tou Fen, her head is not big enough to fit as Da Tou, actually it's just the perfect size in my point of view, and kinf of cute. Her class is just next to mine, and she is 1 year younger than me.

"Ok, ok. Wait for me hah, i will get my comb first." Another girl answer her. Da Nai Ping, Pei Fen best friend. Haven't get any detail about her, because she is not my type of girl. Loud speaker, busy body, and bla...... her eyes will spark when she saw some handsome guy. Well this is mine opinion about her for what i had seen so far.

Seeing Pei Fen waiting outside my classroom, i talk to myself "Oh! This is a good change for me get to know her" Eventhough my heart tell me to do so, but my body wouldn't move even a finger. That's happen to me everytime... " Hei Pei Fen, waiting for Ah Ping ah?" A guy approach Pei Fen and start talking to her. Jonathan, my classmate and sit next to me, quite a handsome guy.

"Oh, ya loh. " Pei Fen answer him. "ok, lets go."Da Nai Ping came out from classroom with her comb and talk to Pei Fen. "OH ! Jonathan, hihi...."When Da Nai Ping saw Jonathan, i saw her eyes sparks ! " Looking for me? hehe... bla....." Da Nai Ping start talking to Jonathan and ignore Pei Fen who still waiting for her. " What kind of friend is that, so 'zong se qing you', let Pei Fen wait for her just for other guys" I mumble in my heart.

The chatting over only after 10 minutes. Jonathan come into classroom after seeing Pei Fen and Da Nai Ping leave for washroom. " Hey, Ah Toot, still stay inside classroom ah." Jonathan talk to me when he saw me. "Oh, not feeling hungry lol, so stay in classroom lol." I answer him. "Eh... Jonathan know Da Toh Fen, maybe he have her e-mail address or handphone number, why not i ask him."My brain spark an idea.

" Er... Jonathan, did you know Pei Fen and Da Nai Ping well?" I ask Jonathan. " Oh, ok lol. I know Da Nai Ping better lol."Jonathan answer me while playing game using his handphone. "ho, is it so. Em..... do you have Pei Fen e-mail address or handphone no?" I decide to ask Jonathan with all my brave heart. "Got lol, why? You want ah... Hm... " Jonathan look up to me with suspecious eyes. " Ok, i will give you the e-mail address, but you must buy me lunch for this whole week, deal?" Jonathan seems to know what in my mind and smile. "OK, deal." I answer him an once. Jonathan suprise with my answer and reaction." Ha, you really are something. Ok i will write you the e-mail address, good luck to you hah." Jonathan write me the e-mail while talking to me.

Wow, finally i got Pei Fen e-mail address. Don't mention a week of lunch, i am willing to pay for even 1 month of lunch just to get her e-mail. Maybe i am too nervous to talk to her, writing might be a better way for me to know her... i think....

New life in Singapore

Hi, i am Ah Toot. Actually i am not Ah Toot, er... i mean my name is not Ah Toot, this is only the nick name after i came to Singapore. My real name is Zhun Hui.

I'm a Taiwanese who migrate to Singapore together with my father.... only. Something happen back in Taiwan a few years ago, it's only bring sadness and miserable memories for me and my father, hence my father decided to migrate to Singapore for my good sake.

I'm not a outdoor kid and didn't have the sunshine smile. Actually i am a quiet person who likes to listen and watch others even in my birthday party. After the incident happen back in Taiwan makes me even quiet than ever. That's why i have no much friend at Singapore... but, someone i met the first day i went to school change my life... forever...

I still remember the first day to school, that is a rainy day. Ah Phoon, driver employ by my father drove me to school, rain is falling heavily outside the windows. On the way to school, i saw many students taking bus and come out from MRT station... I started to think " Will others accept me at new school? will i make new friends? ............. " My mind started to fly outer space.

" Young master... young master....... YOUNG MASTER." Ah Phoon's calling pull me back from my day dreaming. " We are here at your new school already, young master." Said Ah Phoon. " Oh, sorry, i didn't notice." I answer Ah Phoon and notice that we are at the school front door already. "No need to send me in, i will walk in myself. Thanks." I quickly walk out the car seeing Ah Phoon ready to send me in to school with umbrella on his hand.

Rain has stop and seeing lots of school mate walk into the school. I stood at the front door and talk to myself " This is the school, a very beautiful place, and for the next 3 years, i am going to study here, hm... not a bad choice after all" "WEI !!! Wait for me mah, Da Nai Ping ! " A sound coming from my back. When i look back, a beautiful view catch my eye ... and my soul.

A beautiful girl with hair up to her shoulder, wearing clean and tidy school uniform, and with a sweet beautiful smile chasing a girl in front of her under sunshine. Can you believe it, at that moment i though i saw an angel with sweet smile fly towards me and fly into my heart. " Faster lah Da Tou Fen, or we will be late ! " Answer the girl at the front. They quickly run pass me and i still stood at the front door watching her pass by.

" Who is she? Which class she's in? How old is she? Da Tou Fen? Is this her real name? " Tones of questions pack in my head, and i know that, 3 years in here is going to be very interesting ........
